Year 5 - Lion Class
Welcome to Lion Class, our class teacher is Miss Hillary.
This term, our topic is 'how is climate change affecting the world?'. We are looking forward to learning about this through subjects such as Geography, English and Art.
Soon, we will be undertaking an exciting climate change art project. If you have any plastic bags, clean plastic bottles, old magazines, net bags (the kind you buy oranges in), string, ribbon, clean crisp packets, old jewellery/beads, bottle tops, egg boxes or corks, please could you send them into school? If you could help, that will be great!
If you haven't done so already, please connect to Class Dojo. It is a great way of communicating and viewing your child's achievements.
Lion class will have PE on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. On Wednesdays, we will be doing football outside and on Fridays, we will be doing Dance in the hall.
We will be taking part in a Forest School session which relates to our Topic very soon...so please look out for more information!
It is extremely important that children read every night at home, as well as spend time on TT Rockstars and Spelling Shed. Children have their own log-in details for these, which are written on their reading records, but please ask if you have misplaced them.
This term, we are continuing to read Running Wild by Michael Morpurgo. This story is about overcoming adversity while embarking on the adventure of a lifetime! The children are all very engaged and interested in this story.
If your child is required to self isolate due to Covid-19 we have provided some home learning ideas to this page.
