Year 4 - Raccoon Class

Welcome to Raccoon Class. Our teacher is Mrs Webb.

The school year is coming to an end! What a year it's been and may I say once again, what a pleasure it has been to get to know the children and to see them growing and developing resilience, meeting the challenges that the year has had and demonstrating such a positive attitude. A real inspiration to me and to others in the school.

In Term 6 we are learning about Sustainability, what that means and how we can be helping to sustain our planet for future generations. This is a geography topic in which we will look at different facets of sustainability, including alternative sources of energy, enabling wildlife to survive in the changing environment and looking at our own school and ways to make it more sustainable.

In Reading lessons, we are completing 'Kensuke's Kingdom' and reviewing the text through analysis and evaluation. The children have been thoroughly enjoying this book and have been demonstrating their growing understanding of how to get deeper into texts.

Raccoon Class will now have P.E on Wednesdays and every two Thursdays, alternating with Forest School (Week 1 is P.E). Kit for both of these activities is essential please, in order for the health and safety and hygiene of the class. On P.E days, children are asked to wear their kit into school please, to save time and to ensure they are prepared for the lesson.

In case of the need to self-isolate please click on the document below (Home Learning Activities Term 6) for work to complete during this time.
