Year 3 - Jellyfish Class

Welcome to Jellyfish Class!

Your class teacher is Mrs Newman and your teaching assistants are Mrs Ali and Miss Sweeney.

I hope you all had a lovely summer! I cannot wait to welcome you into Year 3 and share all the exciting things we will be doing this year.

We will begin Year 3 with a history enquiry, our big question will be 'Would you rather live in the Stone Age, Bronze Age or Iron Age?'. We will be using our investigation skills, as historians, to look for evidence in secondary sources and make deductions about how prehistoric people lived.

In our Reading lessons we will be focussing on two picture books this term. 'How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth' by Michelle Robinson and 'Stone Age Boy' by Satoshi Kitamura.

In Science, our topic for the term is 'Animals including Humans'. We will be learning lots about the human body and animal's bodies too. This topic will help us to understand how to keep our bodies fit and healthy.

P.E. this term will be Multi-Skills and Football. Multi-skills is indoors on a Monday. Football will be on the grass outside on a Thursday. Please ensure you bring the appropriate kit.

Forest school this term will be every other Thursday. Reminders will be posted on class dojo to let you know whether it is our classes week or not.

Forest School kit: named carrier bag for muddy clothes and shoes, long sleeved top, comfortable trousers, boots/old trainers and a coat for wet or cold weather.
