Spiritus Ad Surgere - Let Our Spirits Soar High

Welcome

At Pilgrims’ Way Primary School, we strive to create a nurturing and inclusive community where every child feels they Belong, is encouraged to Believe in themselves and others and is inspired to Achieve their full potential. Through high expectations, compassion and a love of learning, we empower our children to grow with confidence, curiosity and resilience preparing them to thrive both now and in the future.

Belong, Believe and Achieve are not separate ideas; they are deeply connected and together create the foundations for children to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

When children belong, they feel safe, valued and accepted within our school community. Strong relationships, inclusive practice and our rule to Be Kind ensure that every child knows they matter. This sense of belonging gives children the confidence to take risks, make mistakes and engage fully in learning.

From belonging grows belief. When children feel secure and supported, they begin to believe in themselves, their abilities and their potential. By encouraging pupils to Be Honest and Work Hard, we help them build resilience, self-confidence and a positive mindset. They learn that effort matters, challenges can be overcome and learning is for everyone.

With belonging and belief firmly in place, children are empowered to achieve. High-quality inclusive teaching aligned with the Early Years Framework and National Curriculum enables pupils to make strong progress and succeed. Achievement is not only academic; it also includes personal growth, independence and readiness for the next stage of learning.

As part of the Veritas Multi-Academy Trust, we share a commitment to excellence, aspiration and opportunity for all. By nurturing belonging, strengthening belief and celebrating achievement, we ensure our children are confident, capable and prepared to thrive - both now and in the future.

CEO's Welcome

I am delighted to be able to introduce myself as the Chief Executive Officer of Veritas Multi Academy Trust. Appointed to the role in September 2022, I am committed to ensuring that Pilgrims' Way continues to thrive and is enabled to deliver the highest quality of education for the children, making learning irresistible for all.

Veritas MAT works in a collaborative partnership with schools with an uncompromising focus on quality education, strong academic standards, high expectations and aspirations for all our pupils.

The MAT has three core values underpinning our work:

Innovative - Through strong collaboration across the Trust, our academies and staff uphold an innovative approach to staff development through embedding research informed practice. Through a positive and dynamic approach to research based pedagogy, staff across the Trust continuously reflect on their practice to create an environment where innovation leads to irresistible learning for all.

Inclusive - With a firm belief that as a Trust we are stronger together; we create an inclusive environment across our academies where staff and pupils feel emotionally and physically safe. Our academies are outward facing and create an environment where differences in gender, culture, disability and educational needs are embraced and celebrated; leading to irresistible learning for all.

Inspirational - Through inspirational leadership, teaching and learning; our academies create a climate where children, staff and parents strive to achieve and aspire for greatness. With strong collaborations we share practice and challenge one another using the principles of mentor-coaching to celebrate success and support improvement. High standards across a rich and diverse curriculum delivered in each academy leads to irresistible learning for all that is individual to each academy but reflects the shared ethos of the Trust.
