Welcome to Term 2
Welcome to the new term! Make sure you all take time to feel proud of everything you achieved last term and how far you've already come!!
This term we are looking at microhabitats in Science and will be basing our English writing around this topic. We are going to be focusing our writing around the book:
Bog Baby by Jeannie Willis
Our enquiry question in History is ‘How was school different in the past?’ We will welcome a visitor to our classroom and they will share their experiences of what school was like for them. We will be placing events on a timeline and talking about schools in the past and comparing to school today.
Our Maths learning will begin Addition and Subtraction leading on to Shape.
It is always helpful to us for you to support your child’s learning at home with tasks such as telling the time, money and measurement. We will visit these areas later in the year but if they are already familiar, it is beneficial.

PE will be inside on Friday afternoon, so please come in wearing the appropriate PE kit and trainers (weather appropriate). Children are not required to bring school unform in and do not need to change at school.
The Forest School structure has changed; for 3 weeks, half the class will be attending on a Wednesday morning, whilst the other half are doing activities in the classroom and then the groups will swap over. Please look out on Dojo for more information on this.
Home learning will include reading each day and phonics/reading/spelling games on Twinkl For Web alongside practise TT Rockstars.
