Enquiry Question - History
What was the impact of World War 2 on the people of Britain?
Throughout this topic, we will be learning about how events during World War 2 impacted the civilians of Britain. We will discover what happened in the Battle of Britain and the Blitz. Why were children evacuated from their homes and how were the lives of women in Britain affected when men went to war?
Reading
Our book this term is: Letters from the Lighthouse by Emma Carroll.
This is a wonderful story set in World War 2 in Britain and follows the story of some children that were evacuated to the Devon countryside from London. We look at the adventures they had living in a lighthouse and discover there is a mystery to be solved.
Please encourage your child to read every day at home! Reading helps to improve writing and all areas of academic work.
Forest School
Our Forest School days are: Monday 9th, 16th and 23rd September
Please send your child into school wearing their school uniform with a Forest School kit in a bag. Please ensure the Forest School clothes are appropriate for the weather that day.
Please send in wellies that can be kept in school to utilise the outdoor learning spaces every day.
P.E
Our P.E lessons will be on a Wednesday afternoon. This term, we will be learning Rugby and Hockey. Please send the children into school with their P.E kits in their bag. Please ensure the P.E kits are suitable for outdoor P.E - we will try and learn outside when the weather allows.
