Welcome back to Term 5.
In Term 1, we learnt about Ancient Egypt and Earth and Space.

In Term 3, we will be learning about Ancient Maya in history and in science we will be learning about changes of state and properties of materials.
In Term 3, we learnt about the Ancient Maya civilisation and changes of state in science.
In Term 4, we learnt about global warming in Geography and in Science we learnt about light and how we see.
In Term 5, we learnt about the Tudors in History and in Science we learnt about the life cycles of different types of animals in the world. We even saw our own caterpillars change and develop through their own life cycle, and our beautiful butterflies were released at the end of term 5. We all wrote some wonderful life stories which we hope to record vocally too.
In Term 6, we will be learning about Fairtrade and why it is fair. In Science, we will be learning about the human life cycle and reproduction. We will be visiting a farm which links to our Farm to Fork topic in DT and we’ll be cooking too! We are all going canoeing on the Stour and will learn to canoe and paddle board as well as learn some great life skills. In English, we are going to write some fact files about animals and improve on unlevelling our sentences.
We will be reading The Animals of Farthing Wood by Colin Dann and we’ll find out how humans have an impact on our wildlife. The animal characters have some exciting adventures along the way too.
Our P.E days are still Monday and Friday - please bring in suitable P.E kit for the weather. We will be learning rounders and multi-skills. For Term 6, our Monday P.E is still first thing in the day, so the children should come to school in their P.E kit and MUST remember their h their uniform to change after PE.
Our Forest School day will be every other Monday morning (our sessions are scheduled for the 12th June, 26th June and the 10th July) - please send in suitable clothing for the weather. These sessions will also be first thing in the day, so the children should come to school in their forest school kit with their uniform in their bags.
Summer Term – the weather is improving and can get quite hot during play time and lunch time. Please send children in with a water bottle every day, hat and suncream are also very useful if we get a hot, sunny day.
