Year 4 - Squirrel
Welcome to Squirrel Class, our teacher is Mrs Pursey.
This term we changed our days for P.E: we have been going swimming every Tuesday and have had a second P.E session on a Thursday.
We have finished reading 'Animals of Farthing Wood'. The children really enjoyed this text and I'm sure could give a recount of the adventures of the animals. We will start a new story shortly as our reading for pleasure, but first we have been immersing ourselves in poetry.
We are now reading Michael Morpurgo's 'Kensuke's Kingdom' as our reading text and I'm sure it will be just as exciting as the previous texts we have read.
Our topic focus this term is art and the study of pointillism, where we will have taken inspiration from the famous pointillist artist Georges Seurat.
We recently had World Book day and dressed up as explorers, which was very fun and interesting!
I have been really impressed with Squirrel class's dedication to TT Rockstars - we frequently have highest earners gaining certificates in assembly. Well done!
7th February Well done Squirrel class for 100% attendance for the week.
This term we are asking how the arrival of the Romans changed Britain, as well as studying 'The Firework Maker's Daughter' as our class text and finishing 'The Animals of Farthing Wood' for our end of the day reading book.
P.E is on Mondays and Wednesdays. We are enjoying the tennis coach, Nick, on a Monday and we're learning the skills for handball on Wednesdays.
We are looking forward to our trip to the Beaney and the Roman museum on Thursday 13th February to conclude our history topic this term.
