Year 4 - Raccoon Class
Welcome to Raccoon Class, our teacher is Mrs Webb.
We had a very productive first term back, learning about the influences of the Anglo-Saxons in Britain, reading 'The Firework Maker's Daughter' and practising our skills with watercolours. The whole class got into good routines with their homework and home reading and were enthusiastic, especially about maths! Well done to you all.
In Term 2 our P.E lessons are every Tuesday (Gymnastics) and every second Thursday (Tag Rugby - weather permitting).
Every two Thursdays we spend the afternoon in Forest School, so children will need suitable clothing please - long sleeved top, comfortable trousers, boots/old trainers and a coat for wet or cold weather. They may also like to wear a woolly hat now that the weather is colder.
Our overall topic for the term is art-based as we study Pointillism and learn how optics are used to blend colours with our eyes, rather than on a palette.
In Reading lessons we are studying a well-known book, 'Charlotte's Web' by E.B.White.
