Year 3 - Toucan Class
Welcome to Toucan Class. Our class teacher is Mrs Pursey.
During this school closure, home learning can be found for your child on their class page. Every Monday morning (by 9am) we will add the weeks home learning. The links to resources can be found within the home learning document.
Teachers can be contacted via Class Dojo if you have any questions or queries regarding the home learning. You can also submit pictures of work via this app, the teacher can still award Dojo's to the children and will be selecting Stars of the Week as normal.

Toucan Class continue to impress me with their developing resilience and confidence over the course of this year, remaining positive and working collaboratively.
The focus for Term 3 is Geography, specifically earthquakes. We will be exploring the world and identifying where earthquakes are most prevalent, as well as why some are more destructive than others.
This term for our Reading lessons we are moving on from picture books to a short novel by Dick King-Smith, 'The Sheep-Pig'. We are also starting a new reading for pleasure book this term, 'The Abominables' - hopefully it will be enjoyed as much as our last story, 'The Boy Who Grew Dragons'.
Forest School remains on a Tuesday, with alternating groups going on alternative afternoons. All children will have at least three forest school sessions and may receive additional sessions during the course of the term. Please see below for a reminder of appropriate clothing - as it is now colder and wetter it is important we remember warm, waterproof clothing.
P.E continues to be on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning. We are continuing netball, developing our skills further in controlling the ball. Our indoor activity is dance to put those gymnastics moves from last term to use. As children have their own locker they can keep their kits in school for the term.
Forest School kit: long sleeved top, comfortable trousers, boots/old trainers and a coat for wet or cold weather.
