Year 3 - Kingfisher Class

Welcome to Kingfisher Class. Our teacher is Miss Haynes and our

Teaching Assistant is Mrs Llong.

Term 5

I hope you all had a brilliant Easter holiday! Our topic for Term 5 will have a history focus answering the question: 'How did the arrival of the Romans change Britain?' In this topic we will be using our analysing skills to look at Roman artefacts, such as towns and roads, to investigate how the Romans lived. This topic will also go into English where we will be building on our knowledge of the Celts from Term 3 and be writing comparisons, letters and newspaper articles.

This term we will be continuing reading chapters from 'You're a bad man, Mr Gum' by Andy Stanton.

P.E. : Our P.E. days will continue to be Monday and Thursday - we will be doing Cricket on a Monday and Hockey on a Thursday. With the weather warming up we will be outdoors for both P.E. lessons this term, so dependent on the sunshine the children may prefer to start wearing shorts for P.E. and sun cream as you think necessary.

Forest School: Forest school continues to be fortnightly on a Wednesday morning this term. We will update you on class dojo which week each class will be doing. Children should continue to wear their forest school clothes into school and bring their uniform and a named bag for changing into afterwards.

Forest School kit: named carrier bag for muddy clothes and shoes, long sleeved top, comfortable trousers, boots/old trainers and a coat for wet or cold weather.
