Welcome back to Term 3

A Happy 2025 to Everyone!

Our Historical enquiry in Term 3 will be:

' How did we learn to fly?'

We will be learning about the important events surrounding the history of flight and the people who                             changed the lives of others through their achievements.                                                We will be building on our learning in Year 1 when we learnt about significant explorers.

To start off our English this term we will be making the most of the recent wintry weather to write poems about winter. We will be making use of alliteration and similes in our writing. Following on from this, we will be using the book entitled 'Neil Armstrong' to support our writing, making links to our history enquiry of 'How did we learn to fly?'.

Our PE this term will be on a Thursday afternoon - please ensure your child has a PE kit to change into on this day.

Our Forest School days will be 29th January, 5th and 12th February. On these days the children should come to school in uniform and bring Forest School kit to change into after lunch. As the weather gets colder please ensure your child has warm clothes for Forest School.

Home learning will include reading each day and phonics/reading/spelling games on

Twinkl For Web alongside practise on Numbots and TT Rockstars.

If you have any questions please see me at the beginning or end of the day or message on dojo.
