Year 1 - Fox Class
Welcome to Fox Class. Our teacher is Mrs Usher.
This term we will begin with a History enquiry, 'How am I making History?'. This enquiry will allow the children to create a simple timeline of events that have taken place in their lives and look at the changes that occurred from the past to the present in their lives, before making up their own minds to answer the question.
In English and PSHE, we will be reading many books to support 'Celebrating Difference' and 'Being me in my world'. These texts include: 'Super Duper You' by Sophy Henn; an exciting story celebrating all the different, extraordinary and sometimes contradictory things we are. Our main text is 'There is only one YOU' by Kathryn Heling and Deborah Hembrook. This wonderful book embraces diversity, inclusion and individuality.
PE will be every Tuesday afternoon. Please make sure your child has a PE kit in school to change into.
Forest School will be Thursday mornings. Please remember your child's Forest School kit and appropriate footwear. Check the Class Dojo page for regular updates on Forest School.
Your child should have their reading book in school every day and should practice reading at home on a daily basis. Reading books will be changed every Friday.
If you ever have any questions, I am available at the classroom door every day after school or can be contacted on ClassDojos.
