Term 6

Welcome back to the final term of the academic year.

This term we will focus on our Geography enquiry, 'Why does it matter where my food comes from?'. We will be investigating how people are dependent upon the environments that surround them. We will also be thinking about why locally sourced and free-range foods are considered better for the environment.

In English, we will be looking at a variety of texts to support our enquiry question, such as 'Ten fat sausages' by Michelle Robinson and Tor Freeman, 'The Tiger who came to tea' by Judith Kerr, 'The gigantic turnip' by Aleksei Tolstoy and 'Where does my food come from?' by Annabel Karmel and Alex Willmor. We will be exploring these texts through freeze-framing, drawing, sentence and word-level learning and writing.

In Maths, we are looking at Position and Direction, Place Value within 100, Money and Time.

PE will continue to be every Wednesday morning so please have an appropriate PE kit in school.

Forest School will be Thursday mornings. Please remember to come to school wearing your Forest School kit and appropriate footwear. Check the Class Dojo page for regular updates on Forest School.

Your child should have their reading book in school every day and should practice reading at home on a daily basis. Reading books will be changed every Friday.

If you ever have any questions, I am available at the classroom door every day after school or can be contacted on ClassDojos.
