Welcome to Term 4!

In English, we are continuing with our writing journey  with The Curious Quests. Our rich vocabulary to accompany the quests will be sent out each week on Class Dojo. Alongside this, we’ll carry on with our phonics learning. In Term 4, we will be continuing with Level 5 sounds so that we start to be confident in using them for both reading and spelling new words. We will also be revising all Level 2 and 3 sounds and Level 4 words.

In Maths, we will continue to explore addition and subtraction with numbers to 20. We will also begin to look at place value to 50, length and height and mass and volume. 

Science learning will explore animals. The children will learn to group and compare animals and will study the work of Jane Goodall.

In R.E. this term, we will be exploring the question 'why should we care for the world?' The children will engage in interesting discussions as we ponder this big and important question. 

Our PE day is Thursday and your child should wear their PE kit to school on that day. 

Forest school will take place on Monday morning for the first three weeks of term. Please ensure that all children come to school in forest school clothes with their uniform to change into afterwards. Wellies should remain here at school. 

Home learning will be reading (information about this will be shared with you in a separate letter), Twinkl phonics and the Twinkl maths app. Your child should have their reading book in school every day and should practice reading at home on a daily basis. Reading books will be changed every Friday.
