Year 2 - Deer Class
Welcome to Deer Class
Class Teacher: Miss Tombs
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Ninglekhu
Welcome back to Term 5
Our Historical enquiry in Term 5 will be:
'What is a monarch?'
Within this enquiry we will be learning that a monarch is a king or queen. We will look at coronations and find out about how William the Conqueror became King of England. We will be researching castles and will make comparisons between Motte-and-Bailey castles and stone-keep castles.
Our English lessons will be linked to the following books:
If I were King by Chelsea O'Byrne, The King's Pants by Nicholas Allan,
The Castle the King built by Rebecca Colby and The Battle of Hastings by Claudia Martin.
Our PE this term will be on a Wednesday afternoons - please ensure your child has a PE kit - including trainers, to change into on this day.
Our Forest School day will be on Tuesdays - 13th May, 20th May and 3rd June (Term 6). On these days the children should come to school in uniform and bring Forest School kit to change into after lunch. Please ensure your child has a waterproof coat as learning in forest school still takes place in the rain!
Home learning will include reading each day and phonics/reading/spelling games on
Twinkl For Web alongside practise on Numbots and TT Rockstars.
If you have any questions please see me at the beginning or end of the day or send a message on dojo.
