Year 2 - Deer Class

Welcome to Deer Class

Class Teacher: Miss Tombs

Teaching Assistant: Mrs Ninglekhu

Welcome back to Term 6

Our Geographical enquiry in Term 6 will be:

'Why do we like being beside the sea so much?'

Within this enquiry we will be learning about the coast and the range of human and physical geographical features that can be found there. We will be taking a trip to the seaside as part of our irresistible curriculum.

Our English lessons will be linked to the following books:

The Secret of Black Rock by Jo Todd Stanton, Sally and the Limpet by Simon James, Clean Up by Nathan Bryant and Look what I found at the Seaside by Maria Butterfield.

Our PE this term will be on a Wednesday afternoons - please ensure your child has a PE kit - including trainers, to change into on this day.

Our Forest School day will be on Tuesdays - 3rd June, (our third session from Term 5)                1st July, 8th July and 15th July. On these days the children should come to school in uniform and bring Forest School kit to change into after lunch. Please ensure your child has a waterproof coat as learning in forest school still takes place in the rain!

Home learning will include reading each day and phonics/reading/spelling games on

Twinkl For Web alongside practise on Numbots and TT Rockstars.

If you have any questions please see me at the beginning or end of the day or send a message on dojo.
